TV Feature Wall Ideas for Singapore Homes: Types, Sizes and Customisation

Full-height TV feature wall with LED backlight and arched display shelf in a Singapore living room

A TV feature wall turns the most-looked-at wall in your home into a finished centrepiece, with storage, display shelves and hidden cables built in. Here’s how to choose a TV feature wall for a Singapore HDB or condo living room: the three main types, how to size it to your TV, what you can customise, and what to prepare before installation.

TV feature wall vs TV console

A TV console is a low cabinet your TV stands on or hangs above. A TV feature wall goes further: a wall-mounted panel behind the TV, usually with a console, display shelves and space for hiding cables. It’s a quicker, more affordable way to get a built-in look without major renovation work.

How wide should a TV feature wall be?

A feature wall or console looks best when it’s wider than your TV. Aim for about 20 to 30cm wider than the screen.

Most of our designs come in 4ft to 8ft widths, and we can make them to the exact width of your wall if you need something in between, wider or taller.

Height tip: keep the centre of the screen close to eye level when you’re seated on the sofa. A low console of about 40 to 45cm usually gets this right.

What you can customise

Most of our TV feature walls are made to order and can be customised. Every wall is different, so customisation is quoted separately based on your space.

Before installation: what to prepare

  1. Measure your wall and take a few photos, straight-on and from the side.
  2. Share your wiring or piping plan. We need to know where it’s safe to drill.
  3. Plan your power points. Installation doesn’t include moving power points, so arrange this beforehand if your TV or console position needs one.
  4. Check the wall. Installation also doesn’t include adding extra wall support. If you have a drywall or partition, check that it can take the load, or arrange reinforcement first.
  5. Know your TV size and model, including whether it will be wall-mounted.
