Nuloft Luxe mattress on a light wooden bed frame in a bright Singapore bedroom

How much should a good mattress cost in Singapore? Most people will be comfortable on a Queen mattress that costs $400 to $1,200. Spend less and you’ll usually give up some support, cooling or lifespan; spend more and you’re mostly paying for extra comfort layers and a brand name. Here’s what you get at each price, with real prices from our range, so you can decide how much to spend on a mattress.

The Nuloft Luxe: zoned pocket springs, latex and a cooling cover, $1,159 in Queen.

The quick answer

  • Under $400 (Queen): good for a guest room, a rental or a child’s room. Expect a 3-year warranty and a shorter lifespan.
  • $400 to $700: the sweet spot for most couples. Better materials, like natural latex, and longer warranties.
  • $700 to $1,200: hybrids with pocket springs, zoned support and cooling covers. Built to last 8 to 10 years or more.

All prices in this guide are for Singapore Queen size (152 × 190cm), at the time of writing in November 2026. Prices change with promotions, so check each product page for the latest.

What you’re actually paying for

  • Materials. Natural latex and gel memory foam cost more than standard foam, but they last longer and sleep cooler.
  • Support system. Pocket springs, especially zoned ones that are firmer under your hips, cost more than a single block of foam or linked Bonnell springs.
  • Cooling. Cool-touch fabrics, breathable latex and airflow between springs matter in Singapore’s heat.
  • Warranty. A longer warranty is a sign the maker expects the mattress to hold its support for longer.
  • Not just size. Moving up from Single to Queen usually adds about 50% to the price of the same mattress.

Think in cost per night

A mattress is one of the few things you use every single day. Divide the price by how many nights it lasts and the gap between a budget and a better mattress gets much smaller:

Cost per night of sleep18¢Budget pocket spring$319 Queen, ~5 years24¢Nuloft Hybrid$799 Queen, ~9 years
Price divided by nights of use. Prices are Singapore Queen size, November 2026.
  • A $319 Queen mattress that lasts 5 years costs about 18 cents a night.
  • A $799 Queen hybrid that lasts 9 years costs about 24 cents a night.

For around 6 cents more a night, you get zoned pocket-spring support, latex comfort layers and a 10-year warranty. If you sleep on it every night, that’s usually worth it. See how long each type of mattress lasts.

When it’s fine to spend less

  • Guest rooms that are used a few nights a month
  • Rentals and short stays, if you’re moving in a year or two
  • Growing kids who will move to a bigger bed in a few years. Look at a slim, supportive mattress like the Nuloft Lite for kids’ rooms and storage beds.

When it’s worth spending more

  • You share the bed. Pocket springs reduce disturbance when your partner moves.
  • You wake up stiff or sore. Better support and pressure relief make the biggest difference here. Our firm vs soft mattress guide helps you choose.
  • You sleep hot. Cooling covers and breathable layers are usually in the mid to upper range. See our cooling mattress guide.
  • It’s your main bedroom for years to come. A longer-lasting mattress saves you replacing it sooner.

FAQ

How much should I spend on a Queen mattress in Singapore?

For most people, $400 to $1,200. Under $400 suits a guest room or a short-term home; $700 to $1,200 gets you a hybrid with zoned pocket springs, cooling layers and a 10-year warranty.

Is an expensive mattress worth it?

Up to a point. Paying more usually gets you better materials, support and a longer warranty. Beyond about $1,500 for a Queen, you’re mostly paying for extra plushness and branding.

Are cheap mattresses bad?

Not always. A well-made budget pocket spring or foam mattress is fine for a guest room, a rental or a few years of use. It just won’t last as long as a hybrid or latex mattress.

How long should a mattress last for the price?

A mattress under $400 usually lasts 5 to 7 years. Hybrids and latex mattresses in the $700 to $1,200 range often last 8 to 10 years or more.

Can I pay for a mattress in instalments?

Yes. We offer 0% instalment plans, and you can pay in 3 with Atome.
